ANTONIO BANDERAS MEETS SELECTED HOMME : THE FIRST LOOK
The whole world, along with me, was flabbergasted when the Desperado actor Antonio Banderas joined fashion design course in the eponymous Central Saint Martins in London in the summer of 15 at the age of 55. And nearly a year later, the famed actor has unveiled his first fashion line in an exclusive collaboration with Danish fashion conglomerate Selected Homme. His lines are clean constructed; and aimed for the every man, and it is sans the pretense and sparsely elemental haute couture. His freshman collection aptly named Antonio Banderas Design comprises of many a menswear staples as neatly conceived and executed Wool topcoats, a lithe Navy suit, an ever stylish pairs of blue and distressed jeans, a rakishly decked leather moto-jacket, the Nehru-collar popovers, and ridiculously cozy polo shirts.
The first of the offering has been made available on Selected Homme's online store and their hundreds of European outlets since August 10. When the ultra chic and jaunty clothing is priced at nerve-wrecking low price, it would not be an overstatement if I say most of the Europeans will hail the AB Design clothing as the European gold standard of fashion in our modern times; especially now when the daring scoops of the men's streetwear make a succinct deviation from the mainstream fashion and haute couture alike.
All eyes are on Antonio and his brand Antonio Banderas Design, and are eagerly awaiting his sophomore collection in 17 ; and when we will see his refined craft at its stages of redressals and perfections. Till then, we will enjoy his clothes, and celebrate the actor that gave us Desperado, The Mask of Zorro, Original Sin and notably Puss in the Boots. Viva La Banderas!!
